Seengen | Riesi
The excellently preserved wetland settlement of Seengen/Riesiis is situated on a peninsula in a nature reserve on the northern end of Lake Hallwil. Excavations carried out in the 1920s exposed no more than approximately 2% of the settlement area. Three phases of construction were identified in the sequence of layers. The houses dated from the Late Bronze Age, i.e. from the 11th to 9th centuries BC.
