Short Description
The site of Erlenbach-Winkel lies along a stretch of shoreline of the Zurich Lake, where the sediments of ancient settlements were preserved unusually well. Of special note are artifacts that date to the late Corded Ware culture, about 2500 BC, and the Early Bronze Age, about 2000 to 1900 BC. The site represent very rare settlement phases that closely mark a five hundred year hiatus, which is observed at all of the other sites around the Swiss Lakes.
